A 4-days Faculty Development Program on Rational Application Developer (RAD) being conducted during 13th - 16th January was inaugurated today in the Seminar Hall-II. In his welcome address, Dr. Vineet Kansal, Director - IT welcomed the Resource Person and briefed about the objectives and benefits of this program. Prof. S.K. Pandey introduced the Resource Person, Mr. Sunny Narang who is conducting this FDP.
In this FDP, various aspects of RAD shall be covered during next four days including Workbench Basics, Java Development Environment, Web Development Basics, Running Web applications using using WebSphere, Database connectivity, Struts & JSF Development5 Tools, Packaging and deployment of projects, Testing & Debugging Web Applications using JUint and JSP Debugging tool. The FDP shall be conducted using Discussions, demonstration and practical implementation of the discussed concepts.
About 40 faculty participants from IT (PG), IT(UG) and ITS Engineering College, Greater Noida are attending this FDP.

Five Day workshop from 25 to 29 July 2011 on “High Impact Learning” under Wipro Mission 10X Programme was inaugurated at I.T.S Engineering College, Greater Noida.A total of 31 faculty members from I.T.S Engineering College,Greater Noida,I.T.S ,Mohan nagar,Ghaziabad and Galgotia Institite of Engineering and Management,Greater Noida are participating in this workshop. Mr. Aditya Sharma Head - North Zone, Wipro Mission 10X Programme, Wipro resource team members Ms Kalpana Arora and Ms Gargi Sandirya and Dr V B Dhawan, Additional Director, I.T.S Engineering College,Greater Noida were present along with the participants.
Ms Gargi Sharma briefed about objectives of the workshop. She brought out that aim of these workshops is to empower faculty with innovative techniques to increase the employability of engineering graduate. These workshops had already trained 15,000 faculty members. There is a need to enhance employability competencies among engineering graduates and Mission10X Learning Approach (MxLA) with new teaching-learning paradigm helps an Engineer enhance his/her employability competencies. Mission10X-non Profit Trust created by Wipro conducts such workshops in collaboration with Academia. These workshops have been designed to shift the paradigm from teaching to learning and transform the learning cultures in the institutions of engineering education.

Objective of the workshop was to give an insight out of this advance topic to the students to help them in their industry projects. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Amod Kumar & Mr. Hariji Srivastava, Senior JAVA Trainers, CETPA InfoTech Pvt. Ltd, Noida
Dr. V.B.Dhawan , Additional Director ,Prof. Dilkeshwar Pandey,Head,CSE, I.T.S. Engineering College, Gr. Noida inaugurated the workshop by presenting a bouquet to the speakers Mr. Amod Kumar & Mr. Hariji Srivastava respectively.
In his welcome address Dr. V. B. Dhawan, Additional Director, I.T.S. Engineering College brought out the importance such workshops in improving the programming skills of the students. He mentioned the utility of JAVA in development of real world applications and the need of the students to learn how to use the language.In addition to this, Prof. Dilkeshwar Pandey, Head, CSE , I.T.S. Engineering College gave a brief introduction to NetBeans and Java Database Connectivity.

A workshop on Web Services was organized by MCA/CS/IT Departments on 26th April 2011 at seminar hall of the institute. Objective of the workshop was to give an insight out of this advance topic to the students to help them in their placement processes. In his welcome address Dr. V. B. Dhawan Additional Director, I.T.S. Engineering College gave a brief but very useful concept of current trends and requirements of industry to the students. He also discussed about the basics of web services and its application areas. He also told the students about the usefulness of the computer programming languages like JAVA and XML in web services.
Mr. Kaushal Kumar gave an overview of the whole workshop and related the concept of web services with Distributed Environment and Programming languages like JAVA and XML. Mr. Kaushal Kumar also explained the usefulness of web services in the current environment and tools used in the web services. He also told the students that the term Web services describes a standardized way of integrating Web-based applications using the XML, SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), WSDL (Web Services Description Language) and UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration) open standards over an Internet protocol backbone. XML is used to tag the data, SOAP is used to transfer the data, WSDL is used for describing the services available and UDDI is used for listing what services are available. Web services are used primarily as a means for businesses to communicate with each other and with clients. Web services allow organizations to communicate data without intimate knowledge of each other's IT systems behind the firewall.

Workshop was highly interactive and student’s participation was of high order. The queries of students were resolved satisfactorily. Workshop was attended by MCA (IV Semester) and IT (IV Semester) students. The faculty members from MCA/ CSE/ IT department also attended the workshop.Workshop was coordinated by Mr. Aditya Dayal Tyagi (Asst. Professor-MCA).
